It's Carers Rights Day 2021!

Carers Rights Day is an annual national awareness campaign which aims to give Young and Adult Carers information about their rights and the financial and practical help they are entitled to, including benefits such as Carer’s Allowance, breaks, and access to equipment and technology which can help them in their caring role. This year's Carers Rights Day campaign will focus on raising awareness of the rights that unpaid carers have. The pandemic has had a massive impact on the lives of carers, and it’s more important than ever that carers are aware of what they have the right to.

Gofalwyr Ceredigion Carers, Credu in Powys and WCD Young Carers all have exciting plans for Carers Rights Day 2021, from meetings with Carers and government ministers to releasing a rap song to face to face events from Newtown to Ystradgynlais to an information stall in the entrance foyer at Bronglais Hospital!

Ceredigion County Council has pulled together a wide range of resources and information about Carers Rights Day events, support and the new newsletter here: Carers Rights Day - November - Ceredigion County Council

A Winter Fund is also available to support with finding ways to balance life and caring as well as small grants to support with food / heating / connections etc.

On top of these plans, today sees the launch of the Big Review in Welsh and English, which is packed full of stories from Young and Adult Carers across the 5 counties, and the launch of the Powys Winter Carers Chat magazine.
